Newer email clients (Windows Vista, Windows 7, Android, Blackberry, iPhone)
- If you have the choice, use TLS encryption for extra security.
- Your account name will depend on the email address you have chosen. It will look like this
“username@yourdomain.com” - Your password will be provided to you offline
- Outgoing server smtp.gmail.com, the port number is 587
- Incoming server is pop.gmail.com, the port number is 995
- Enable authentication for Outgoing and Incoming (Not SPA)
Older email clients (Windows XP)
- Use SSL encryption
- Your account name will depend on the email address you have chosen. It looks like username@yourdomain.com
- Your password will be provided to you offline
- Outgoing server smtp.gmail.com, the port number is 465
- Incoming server is pop.gmail.com, the port number is 995
- Enable authentication for Outgoing and Incoming (Not SPA)
Customers that have a Verizon connection to the internet need to specify port 587 as the outgoing mail SMTP port. Other ISPs may have other non-standard outgoing port numbers.
