Domain Name

A domain name is what a customer might type into a browser to access your website directly. For example www.domainname.com

It defines a realm of administrative or authoritative control over industry and location-specific subject matter.

Compared to the numeric addresses assigned to websites (IPs), domain names are easier to remember. They may also incorporate branding, and even keywords.

Domain names are purchased or administered by a registrant at a domain name registrar.
